It's almost been a month since John and I have posted anything on the tactile blog. John decide to kick us in the pants and posted an image of a
work related map on his flickr page. On the drive into work this morning I decided I could use a floor map of the building hanging up in our data center for my half of a work cartography themed
diptych.
John posted
an image of fall leaves on his flickr page, so I used an image of fall leaves I had as well. John's is the more color full one on the left and mine has the narrow depth of field on the right.
John posted
a few pictures from inside his truck while having it washed today. I sprayed some water in the kitchen sink for my half of this water
diptych.
John posted a photo today with that he described as "
a big roll of plastic stuff" which was full of circular patterns. I decided to combine his photo with a handful of pecans from the backyard.
After a few days off John and I threw together a new post in order to get productive again. John brought the dirty tractor tires while I had an image of a few acorns on the ground by Whiterock creek.
Well it was my turn to combine for the Tactile Collaboration project, so when given a visual reminder of cooler temps outside, I replied with a warm breakfast basic. Stan posted crunchy leaves on his Flickr site, I brought crispy toast.
John posted a picture of a holly bush on his flickr site today, so I combined it with a picture I had taken at work of a possumhaw holly tree. The diptych combination features complimentary colors and a slightly early seasonal feel.

John posted a shot of his lunch on his flickr site, so I decided to respond with a picture of what Erica and I were preparing for dinner.
Today's tactile posting is about using complimentary colors and matching lines. John posted the shot of the grass on his flickr site today and I had the brick leftover from last week. I thought the combinations work pretty well together.
John posted several photos of sand today on his flickr site, so I tried to combine one of them with a picture I took of the glass shower in our bathroom a few days back. I liked the idea of contrasting raw materials with a processed product for today's diptych.

John sent me the picture of the Japanese Silver Grass, so I had to rack my brain to come up with something that would work along side it. I settled on a picture I took last night of one of the bath towels in our restroom. I had to perform some slight hue tweaking to bring the tones closer together but I think it works.

I brought the driftwood and John brought the rusted metal for today's texture diptych.

John spent the day visiting golf courses while I was in meetings planning out a storage area network solution for the company I work for. Guess who I feel had to better contribution to today's diptych.

John Neese helped me with today's diptych. I like the use of depth of field and repetition in his shot. I took my half while I was fixing my weekend coffee this morning.
I've been tossing around the idea of starting a new photography/blogging project dedicated to texture for a few months. This weekend I finally decided to take the plunge and start it. I'm looking to use this blog as a tool to get me to take more photos, specifically photos of a different subject matter than I typically shoot. Eventually I would like to collaborate with others that share my photographic interests in joint projects. Here's the first of hopefully many posts.
